The County Council’s web site says that their waste sites are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. For the Oadby Waste Site (usually open Saturday to Wednesday), this means the openings times should be:

Mon 23rd & Tues 24th Dec: 9am to 4pm;

Weds 25th Dec to Fri 27th Dec: CLOSED;

Saturday 28th Dec to Tues 31st Dec: 9am to 4pm;

Weds 1st Jan to Fri 3rd Jan: CLOSED;

Saturday 4th Jan onwards: normal opening times.

The other nearest County Council waste sites are close to Kibworth and Whetstone. Opening times are on the County Council web site but remember all waste sites are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Various clothing and other recycle banks are located in the Borough. Recycle More has a directory of these. If you find any of the information inaccurate on their site or see a recycle point not listed, please let them know.

If your usual collection day is WEDNESDAY 25TH (CHRISTMAS DAY) your collection date will be BROUGHT FORWARD to SATURDAY 21ST DECEMBER.

As usual, you can leave any flattened large cardboard by the side of the brown-lidded recycling bin on the collection day for that bin.
