Wigston Road Traffic Lights

The temporary cones and tape at the junction

Some months ago the railings on the pedestrian island at Wigston Road / Brabazon Road traffic lights were damaged.

The broken railing was removed after the issue was raised with the County Council by Jeffrey Kaufman.

Further queries by County Councillor Jeffrey Kaufman and myself have revealed that a replacement is on order but it is not known when the repair will be done.

I think that the barrier is there for a reason: to protect pedestrians. It is important that the repairs are carried out on a crossing used by cyclists and pedestrians including those travelling to nearby schools every day.
