When the Clocks Go Back, Check Your Fire Alarm Too

The clocks go back on Sunday morning as we move to Greenwich Mean Time. This happens at 2am on Sunday, 28th October when all clocks are turned back an hour to 1am.

Many electronic devices will change the time for you but if your home is like mine, then I’m sure there are still a few clocks that you have to change manually. Don’t forget that extra hour!

And on Sunday evening we’ll all notice it getting darker earlier. Dusk will soon begin to fall  as early as 4pm – just as schoolchildren are traveling home during the week and the rush hour in Oadby begins.

When I put the clocks back, I use it as a reminder to also check the batteries in my smoke alarm.

Statistics show that fewer deaths or serious injuries occur in households where smoke alarms are installed and maintained. Checking that these devices are working properly can save the lives of everyone in your household.
